There are four oceans, seven seas, seven continents, 196 countries, and seven billion people on Earth. It is insane to think that we’ve only seen such a miniscule percentage of where we live. Traveling both nationally and internationally is extremely impacting, and those who go on excursions frequently know that once you have caught the travel bug, it is difficult to quit.
There is so much excitement in going anywhere that you’ve never been before. It is a completely new experience, and is both educational and exhilarating. It is not just about the places you go, it is about what you see, who you meet, what you discover, and how you feel.
We have all grown up seeing pictures and learning about the major tourist attractions in the world; for example, the Colosseum, or the Eiffel Tower. Just imagine standing in a foreign country looking up at something you have learned and heard about your whole life. It feels unreal. What about all the attractions within our own country, such as the Statue of Liberty or the Grand Canyon, and how many of these countless places have you actually seen? It is not just about the attractions either, it is about the places, cities, and countries as a whole.
Earth is a beautiful place. We are all surrounded by different cultures, different landscapes, and different people. Traveling is a completely different experience, and it really opens up your eyes to the world around you. We take so much for granted. Everyone travels for their own reasons, but each one is completely valid.
One of the major benefits of traveling is probably discovery, whether it happens to be discovery of food, language, culture, history, or nature. Overall, it would be impossible to put into words how life changing seeing the world is, and how it impacts the way that we think and view life. Do not be afraid to take a few risks and have some fun. Make some discoveries, try new things, and be adventurous.
